A Holy, Righteous God: No excuse for Irreverence

When man said, “I am” in the presence of God it was always “I am vile”, “I am undone”, “I am unclean”, “I am sinful”. Man always hid his face, fell on his face or demonstrated absolute conviction as to God’s holiness, authority and perfection. (Some examples: Exodus 3:6 , Numbers 22:31 , Joshua 5:14 , Ezra 9:6 , Job 40:4 , Isaiah 6:5 , Ezekiel 3:23 , Matthew 2:11 , 17:6, Mark 5:33 , Luke 5:8 , Revelation 1:17 , 5:8, 14, 19:4, etc) No one dared approach God with the familiarity we do today and just because we are under grace we still have no excuse for irreverence.
